I think as with homosexuality, they treat it as a disease. But instead of advising on mental health counseling for those poor chaps, they go with punishment.

Where are the JWs on cross dressers?
by mickbobcat inso if a man lets say is heterosexual, married and happy but likes to in the privacy of his own home wear women's cloths and his wife is ok with it.
i know a person could just shut their mouth and who would know but i am talking about jw who is very concerned about telling the truth to the dubbers.
my guess is it would not be a dfing matter but they would not be a ms or elder.

The unfolding crisis in Afghanistan is completely Joe Biden's fault, nobody else's
by LoveUniHateExams inso, there's been a lot of talk on social media, blaming trump for the current crisis that began at the weekend.. it's a load of bullsh!t from deluded people who are desperate to blame anyone but joe biden, the idiot they voted for or at least wanted to win last november.. there is only one person, just one person, to blame: joe biden.. he has the heavy burden of making tough presidential decisions.. and after this debacle, it's reasonable to ask if he's up to making such decisions..

@jeffro: I didn’t mean you personally, the entire left-wing administration of the Biden presidency, CNN and left-wing adherents has been seeking the consensus of people that know nothing about the situation, have never been in poverty or a real war or a real job and then implementing their solution. Whether it’s the current situation with spending on what amounts to UBI for those that don’t want to work or Afghanistan, COVID mask mandates etc, nothing to do with reality. Just do what feels good.
According to reporters on the ground, the Taliban has already started with ethnic cleansing and sex slavery, yet CNN still holds that they will allow women to participate in society and that it is ‘peaceful’ while they go house to house and kill and torture Afghan translators and other educated people.

@jeffro: the decision to completely drop support for the Afghan people and let Iran-funded terrorists run over the country is entirely Biden’s fault. He basically did not see any tactical issues and simply gave the command to pull back without any planning. And that has been his entire administration, you see an issue and basically get the consensus from CNN talking heads to override anyone on the ground.
Afghanistan has never been stable but America’s presence at least gave the world a handle and the people a chance to lift themselves out of poverty.
Trump had a deal with the Taliban, as soon as Biden got into office they started pushing, the Iranians started pushing, North Korea, Russia and China started pushing. And he gave them everything. He has given them the entire Bosphorus, South China Sea, most of the Middle East and Mediterranean, free of charge, we aren’t even responding to the Taliban or the ISIS terrorists stoking protests in South Africa, instead blaming climate change and COVID.

Afghanistan-Kabul falls to Taliban - U.S. Embassy staff evacuated by helicopter
by fulltimestudent inin a scene reminiscent of the fall of saigon, the usa embassy staff have been evacuated by helicopter.. for a third time in asia ( a fourth, if you count usa supported chiang kai shek's defeat in mainland china) usa supported forces have been defeated.
more than 1 trillion dollars wasted and a huge deathtoll (both sides) afghanistan is back to where it started,.
will the taliban behave differently this time ?

@me.wonderful: the plan Trump made was contingent on Taliban keeping the deal, which they didn’t as soon as Biden got in. The US also wasn’t going to withdraw air support, which Biden simply evacuated all US bases with the equipment still there and let the Taliban simply walk in while the Afghan forces had literally no air, logistical or intelligence support.
The left is indeed spinning this as Trump did it, but last I checked, he hasn’t been in office for nearly a year. Trump wasn’t just going to dump the entire country and evacuate.

Question for parents with a believing co-parent
by Anony Mous inmy daughter is being raised in a pimi household and spends a significant time with me in a pomo household.
i don’t pressure her to believe, so she is thinking/pressured about becoming a jw from the other end, so she is reluctant about celebrating holidays and birthdays, but as any kid, she loves the gifts and attention, so she will “not celebrate but still do things”.. she is becoming a teenager however, and showing interest in not-so-jw-things.
her mother forbids star wars for violence and magic, but she wants to watch it, she wants a few horror video games, she wants to shoot things and go hunting but guns aren’t allowed, so i’ve compromised for archery.. what do parents of teenagers do?
-
Anony Mous
Thanks all, I hope I can be successful in this endeavor. Are there any “apostate” sites that are geared towards kids? I think there is a bit of a gap in our outreach there. Any parents willing to join me in this effort?

@redvip: don’t expect America to invade Afghanistan again. The Chinese already started to take over the country in forms of military and infrastructure. This President is weak, expect Taiwan to fall next, war in India and Africa as China is funding Pakistan and various African terrorist groups.
We are on the precipice of a Third World War, not nuclear but a war between third world countries over who gets to reign over the vast amounts of resources that the West needs to do so-called green things. Europe will get pulled in because China and Russia will cut off their energy and food supplies as they’ve been dependent, eventually after the Democrats leave office (doubtful Biden survives that long, but Harris may) then the US will have to clean it all up again.
Our carbon-free energy will be soaked in blood. And then within 50 years when we realize that it’s not sustainable, we will have created a most unstable world, when the answer was laying under our feet all along. Biden just committed an Archduke Ferdinand-level mistake all because he doesn’t understand foreign policy and his base hated everything Trump did for world peace.
Biden needs to go, he is objectively the worst president in history.

If all GB members died at once?
by Jofi_Wofo ini don't suppose anyone knows for sure, but do we have any kind of hint of what would happen if all of the governing body members died at the same time- such that nobody was left to appoint successors?
in lieu of any solid evidence, i'd also be interested in hearing some speculation based on what we already know about the organizational structure.. it would certainly throw a wrench in either the teaching that the faithful and discreet slave will survive into the great tribulation and/or the implied doctrine that the the gb succession arrangement is justifiable biblically.
let me firmly disclaim any implication that i am encouraging violence or wishing death on the governing body.

Well, it would just go down to the next person in command of the corporation. Nothing special really, so typically you have the owners, the board members, the president, the secretary and the treasurer.
In cases where you need to elect a new board, either the members or officers would do so (depending on the language in the bylaws filed during incorporation).
So most likely an attorney for the corporation would look at the bylaws, look who is responsible to make these decisions and/or call for a vote from the membership. Given the membership of the corporation is presumably a select group at Bethel (I’ve heard there are ~500 shareholders), that would be whom does the election, not the members of congregations which are their own legal entities.

Why is there a large cat in this picture?
by slimboyfat ini wonder if anyone can explain this.
ezekiel 34:25 says .
and i will make a covenant of peace with them, and i will rid the land of vicious wild beasts, so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the forests.. the land is said to be rid of vicious wild beasts, so why does the watchtower picture in the new pure worship book show a large predatory cat on the tree in this picture?

To me it looks like the panther is about to eat her.
That being said, if these animals are truly vegetarian, they would biologically no longer be nocturnal, a large animal would not find enough food at night and need daylight to discriminate between edible and inedible vegetation. Also they would be morphologically different, large animals with huge energy budgets need huge storage and lots of food processing, think cows. Humans and cats as vegetarians would have to be so different to survive.

The root cause for both Vietnam and this disaster is the same: the incoming president has no willpower to maintain the status quo and wants to pull out because he needs the funds.
It’s the same thing McNamara did for JFK and LBJ in Vietnam, just let planes get shot down on purpose and don’t fight back where it is necessary, you wear down the morale of your troops and your country so it’s easier to pull the plug. You leave the locals to die, because they’re not worth anything in your plan because you have better things to do at home with that budget that you just saved.
And LBJ through these boondoggles was able to renegotiate with Congress for a $100B plan to start a “War on Poverty” and a jobs plan and a ton of social re-engineering policy while Vietnam fell under the rule of Pol Pot and millions died while the Soviets reaped the benefits by going immediately into various trade agreements. Here too, Biden will make the case that we save a few million and he can use that for making his Green New Deal or whatever other issue in a $10T spending plan.
What do we see today in Afghanistan: hundreds of women that got educated are being locked up and publicly executed. In the mean time China is reaching out to the Taliban for agreements on the building of roads in exchange for mining rights. The Chinese Communists and the American Left (but I repeat myself) are entirely transactional in this thing, they don’t give a flying fuck about the people, the sacrifices, the stability of the region, Europe, Israel. They got their money, saved a line item on the budget, they’re out, what they think their voting base is, is happy.
Off course Biden knew this was going to happen, Obama did the same, Clinton did the same, LBJ did the same. Everytime the same results whether it’s Pol Pot under LBJ or the Iranian hostage crisis under Carter or legitimizing the PLO under Clinton, this is all done on purpose to keep funding eternal social programs at home and keep a puppet at hand abroad for whenever it is politically expedient to take back out and manufacture a crisis. Perpetual crisis keeps people afraid, keeps people easy to manipulate.

If that case count is correct, and the total number is 0.3%, given JW makes up less than 0.1% of the population that means child abuse is at least three times as prevalent amongst JW compared to a “normal” distribution of child molesters in the world.
